At Provident10, we’re monitoring the ongoing labour dispute with Canada Post and the possibility of another postal strike. We understand how important it is for our members and pensioners to stay connected and receive their information and payments on time.
We’re actively working with our partners to help minimize any service disruptions. Mail delays may impact how paperwork and pension transactions are sent or received.
To help avoid delays, we encourage you to use electronic options wherever possible. Please review your options below:
For contributing members:
Transfer Delays: If you are expecting a transfer to your financial institution, you may expect delays during postal service disruption. For questions or to talk with someone from our team, please contact pensions@provident10.com.
Cheque Payment for Service Purchases: Consider alternative methods of payment or delivering your cheque in person or vide courier to avoid delays. If you have sent a cheque for a service purchase or other transaction that becomes held because of a strike, you will not be penalized due to delayed receipt.
Documentation: To reduce delays, we encourage members to use electronic alternatives such as DocuSign and Kiteworks for submitting or receiving any documentation.
For pensioners receiving cheque payments:
Direct Deposit: To reduce the risk of delayed pension payments, we strongly encourage you to switch from your current cheque form of payment to direct deposit.
- You can call the CIBC Mellon toll free retiree center at 1-800-565-0479 to arrange for a secure email to be initiated so you can receive and return an electronic fillable direct deposit form.
- Alternately, you should receive a paper copy of this form in the mail in the coming week that you can complete and fax to 1-800-678-0760.
- You can also download an electronic copy from their website at CIBCMellon.com under Retiree Center and then Forms.
Reissuing Payment: Pensioners can request to have delayed pension cheques cancelled/reversed and reissued to bank account through our partner, CIBC Mellon if held in the event of a strike.
